If you want to have me judge or talk at your camera club or society then get touch via the contact below
Listed below are my main lectures, but if you just need someone to facilitate a club night for image aprraisal or to try something new please get in touch to discuss
Lecture 1
Speed & Motion
This is split in to 2 very different halfs and requires audience participation, they will also have the chance to ask questions during the talk
The first section is based around sport and the techniques used to get the images and the follow part showing the same skills being used in other areas of photographic.
It will also show part of my photography journey from where I started and where I am now.
Lecture 2
Interactive Critic Night
A lecture of 2 very different parts.
Part one, is part lecture about judging and competitions part facilitated discussion with the audience, where they have the chance to ask the judge, a chance to air their views on the judging community to a current judge.
Part 2 is about a right to reply, with about 20 pdis submitted, I will "judge" them like a competition night, but after my comments will invite the photographer to ask me about the comments made.
The images can be of any type, already been in comp with bad comments, new images that are bit edgy and not sure if to put them or even just want a comment on pictures.
If you like more detail about this before booking please get in touch and I can go through more detail of how the evening would work out.
Lecture 3
Titles Why Do We have Them?
The idea is to have more people share their work that they would not normally put into club competition because “the judge won’t get it”, or they just don’t enter because some much of the comments are negative.
It is also to help photographers who are looking to improve their images, but not under the spotlight of a judged competition night.
This is not a competition but an interactive night of appraisal and discussion, between the appraiser (judge) and the photographer/group.
It will also allow for the images to not just have title, but could have a short statement of intent, or no title at all whichever the photographer prefers.
